What We Do
Mission: Improving the lives of Pasco's citizens through homeless initiatives, neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, and community partnerships using state and federal funding. Annually, we receive State and Federal Funding to assist the very low to moderate-income citizens of Pasco County. Some of our activities include:

Grant Kick Off Information

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides grants to Pasco County as an Entitlement Community to contribute to our local economies, develop partnerships and projects that are vital to well-being of our community and serve households in need, from homelessness to housing and more.

These direct formula grants help Pasco County devise local solutions to community development and affordable housing issues.

The funding includes the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG),  (Public Services, Public Development), Community Block Grant-CV (CDBG-CV), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) , Home Investment Partnerships (HOME), and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3 (NSP 3).

Pasco County Community Development is soliciting applications from community organizations and county departments for funding through its programs listed above. Funding will be targeted to the priorities identified in the current Consolidated Plan, available on-line at https://www.pascocountyfl.net/services/community_development/index.php 

It is mandatory that an applicant attend one of the following Grant Kick Off Workshop meetings. The meeting dates/times are as follows: Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM or  Friday, March 1, 2024, from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM.  Meetings will be held in person at the West Pasco Government Center BOCC Boardroom located at: 8731 Citizens Drive, New Port Richey, FL 34654. Should applicants wish to attend virtually, applicants may request a Webex invitation by emailing: communitydev@MyPasco.net. Please indicate which session you would like to attend. Requests to attend virtually must be received by 5:00 PM February 28, 2024.

Housing Relief for Hurricane Idalia

Pasco County Community Development is now accepting applications for Hurricane Idalia Disaster Relief for low- and moderate-income citizens who have suffered loss or damage of their primary residence due to the storm.

You can submit your application in the following ways:

  • In person at the Community Development Office during regular business hours.
  • Email to communitydev@mypasco.net
  • Fax to 727-834-3450
If you need assistance in completing the applications, please call us at 727-834-3447.

These funds are available on to a Pasco County citizen whose home has received damage due to Hurricane Idalia.

Funds may be used for items such as, but not limited to:

  1. Rental Assistance ($20,000 Maximum)
  2. Home Repairs ($25,000 Maximum)
Applicants are subject to income qualification and eligibility verification.

This strategy will only be implemented following a disaster as declared by the President of the United States or the Governor of Florida. These funds are intended to supplement other Federal, State, or Insurance benefits, and are a one-time grant award.

Contractors & Subcontractors Wanted

Community Development is seeking certified and registered contractors to provide major system replacement and/or repairs to single-family homes financed through the County's respective Affordable Housing Programs.
